Visitor Analysis - Summary

During the first year of this website - 2010, the number of visitors per month, according to Google Analytics, varied from 4 in April to 19 in August, averaging 10 per month.

The number of visits made varied from 5 in April to 67 in August, averaging about 27 visits per month.

In August these visits resulted in 162 page views.

During the year, 251 visits were noted from the U.K.; 46 from Australia; 37 from U.S.A.; 14 from Canada; 3 in one month from Brazil; 2 from Germany and South Africa over a 2 month period; and 1 each from Japan, India and New Zealand.

In the second year, 2011, the average number of visitors per month was about 21, with the lowest - 6 - during March and the highest during August - 46 - and September - 44.
The number of visits made varied from 33 in January to 93 in July, averaging about 60 visits per month.
During the year, 639 visits were noted from the U.K.; 29 from Brazil; 14 from Australia; 9 from United States; ; 8 from Canada; 7 from New Zealand; 4 from Russia; 3 from Germany; and 1 from each of Hungary; Japan; Mauritius; South Africa; Spain; and Zimbabwe.

During the third year 2012, the number of visitors per month varied from 9 in December to 76 in June , averaging 21 per month. The number of visits made varied from 10 in July to 76 between May and June, averaging about 31 visits per month. On the average, 72 pages were visited per month.

During the year, something over 250 visits were noted from the U.K.; 168 from Brazil (81 in June); 16 from New Zealand; 20 from U.S.A.; 50 from Canada; 2 from South Africa; 35 from Ireland (32 in June); 3 from Australia; 1 from Italy; 12 from the Netherleands in May and June; and 1 from Denmark.

In the first year, the records indicate the greatest interest was in the Leafords; by 2011 the Harbotts had taken first place; interest in the Tourell family was nearly as frequent as that in the Leafords; and the Whiskins, Osborn and Wests showed a small number of enquiries.

In 2012 at the beginning of the year great interest was shown in the Dorling family; from then on the Harbott visits showed up most, followed by the Tourells; the Osborns and Whiskins fell into intermediate positions; and the Leafords. Harwoods. Ewins and Wests were noted on a few occasions.

I have not been keeping such regular records this year - 2013; there have been no surprises in the countries that have shown interest in the site; the pages visited have shown a fairly widespread range:
In March there were 185 page views;
27 of them referred specifically to the Harbott family; 25 to the Osborns; 11 to the Hills; 4 to the Harwoods; and 4 to the Tourells. The remainder were to general pages - the home page, summary, and surname lists.
In May there were 263 page views;
69 referred specifically to the Hill family; 48 to the Harbott family; 33 to the Osborns; 17 to the Wests; 13 to the Harwoods; 11 to the Pattens; 9 to the Dorlings; 4 to the Ewins; 4 to the Whiskins; and 2 to the Tourells.

I have seen no reference to the Hiscock, Smale or Smith families so far.

All the figures of course assume that my structuring of Google Analytics is not flawed.

In July 2013 there were 6 visitors, all from the U.K., making 35 visits and 174 Pageviews to 93 pages.
The average visit duration was for 11:43 minutes; and the average time on a page was 2:57 minutes.
84 pageviews referred to the Harbotts; 21 to the Osborns; 13 to the Leafords; 9 to the Harwoods; 4 to the Hills; 4 to the Pattens; 2 to the Ewins; 1 to the Tourells and 1 to the Wests.

In August 2013 there were 11 visitors, all but 1 from the U.K., making 57 visits and 253 Pageviews to 205 pages.
The average visit duration was for just under 8 minutes; and the average time on a page was 2:18 minutes.
56 pageviews referred to the Hills; 38 to the Osborns; 22 to the Harwoods; 20 to the Wests; 11 to the Pattens; 8 to the Harbotts and 5 to the Tourells. Visits to the Dorling and Ewins pages may have been accidental, as the time spent on them all amounted to 00:00 minutes!

In Decenber 2013 there were only 3 visitors, but they made 42 visits and viewed 203 pages.   The average visit duration was for just over 10 minutes.
100 pageviews referred to the Hills; 47 to the Osborns; 18 to the Wests; 12 to the Pattens; 8 to the Harwoods; 4 to the Harbotts and 2 to the Whiskins.
