2015
July
I have completely revised the Harbott charts, following some minor additions brought to my attention by Elizabeth Wilkinson, regarding the family of Frederick Charles Harbott and Emily Rawson.
April 27th
The Leaford revision has at last been uploaded. The Leaford Notes gives an idea of the changes made.
January 24th
The promised Smith revision now uploaded.
January 8th
During the next few weeks I expect to be making a number of changes to the Leaford and Smith charts, thanks to the work of Paul Fiddian, whose family tree website can be found at this link.
2014
14th November
The charts and Further Information referred to below on 7th October are now in place.
They can be found mainly at (Brief Charts); at Chart 4; and at Further Information .
7th October
A considerable extension to the main Dorling files has become possible through Clive Dorling, a great-great-great grandson of James born in 1840. The charts and Further Information will be taking me some time to include in this web-site.

After several months of preparation, I have added a branch of the Dorling family to the website.
As I explain in the Dorling Notes this Thingoe branch is probably not related to the rest of the Dorling family connected to the Leafords.
The Brief Charts and the and main charts are separate from the main Dorling charts; but the Further Information page follows on from the rest.
An index to forenames will be added soon.

A possible answer to the Tourell Marriage Mystery

Note on the Hill family uncertainties. January 2014.

So far I have searched as far as 1930 through the SEAX registers for:-
Christ Church, Stratford; Holy Trinity, Stratford; St John`s, Stratford;
All Saints, West Ham; St Thomas, West Ham; and St.Bartholomew, East Ham.
Also for the relevant registry dates for the marriage of William or Henry John Mills in:-
Wanstead - St. Mary the Virgin with Christ Church; Holy Trinity (Hermon Hill, South Woodford); St Gabriel, (Aldersbrook); and St Mary the Virgin;
Woodford - Holy Trinity (Hermon Hill); St Barnabas (Woodford Green); St Mary the Virgin; and St Paul (Woodford Bridge);
and Romford - St Andrew; and St Edward the Confessor.
The searches have been unsuccessful except for the marriage of Frances Margaret Hill to Joseph Hugh Haine. There have been plenty of other Hill marriages, but none belonging to the right family.
There are several other churches in Leyton, Leytonstone and Walthamstow which might fall within the West Ham registry area, but none are available for search on the SEAX website.
