Henry Harbott
Birth: 11 December 1845 in East Street, Stratford.
Marriage: (1) to Eliza Meeling June 1874 in Mile End (2) Mary Ann Strongman 27 June 1875 in St Dunstan, Stepney (3) Caroline Rebecca Usher in 1880.
Eliza had previously been married to John Cornelius Cooper, 21 July 1862 in St Jude, Bethnal Green, and was widowed in 1866. She died in December 1874 in Poplar age 37 (Dec 1874 Poplar 1c 523).
Mary Anne`s birth name was Strongman, and she had previously been Baker by an earlier marriage. She died in Poplar in June 1877 (Jun 1877 Harbott Mary Ann Poplar 1c 468) showing age 46; she had declared her age at marriage two years before as 30.
Caroline, born in 1849, had previously married George Dickson, (Registration district: Bethnal Green 1870 Mar 1C 442). There is some confusion about the marriage, for although the birth certificate of daughter Charlotte Elizabeth gives her mother`s former name as Usher, the only marriage entry for a Caroline Usher in 1880 is:-
Jun 1880 Basingstoke 2c 315 Caroline Usher with possible spouses George Cook or William Franklin. No entry can be found for a marriage Harbott/Dickson.
However, as Caroline`s parents and Caroline`s 3 children from her previous marriage are living at the same address, the partnership with Henry is presumably legitimate.
There is a probable death register entry for Caroline for 1900 (Poplar 1900 Sep 1C 381) giving age at death as 58
